About Laura Goldberger

By utilizing a combination of theories and approaches, I customize therapy to each client. I draw from psychodynamic, relational, and family systems approaches, and incorporate feminist, social justice and mindfulness perspectives. I see the therapy process as collaborative, encouraging participation from my clients in shaping the process together.

I practice daily meditation and I have studied yoga since 1993. These personal mindfulness practices inform the ways I engage with my clients.

I hold a BA from Brown University and a Masters Degree in Psychology from New College of California, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#MFC36388). I completed the 3-year training in individual and couples psychotherapy at the Women’s Therapy Center in El Cerrito. I interned in family and child psychotherapy at the Talkline Family Support Center in San Francisco for 3 years. I am also trained in EMDR through EMDRIA. I have been practicing psychotherapy in clinic and private practice settings since 1994.

I am a faculty member at The Psychotherapy Institute and provide workshops and trainings to other therapy centers and organizations.
