Gender Non-Conforming Children and Their Parents

If you or your child feels distressed about their gender, or if your child is experiencing difficulties at school or in the family because of their gender expression, it can be a good time to visit a therapist with expertise in this area.

When parents find that their child is expressing their gender in ways that don’t conform to our society’s usual expectations, they are often concerned, confused, or upset. They want to do what is best for their child, but are conflicted about what approach to take.

My approach with gender non-conforming and transgender children is non-judgmental and meets you where you are in your experience. I help families to figure out beneficial ways of handling the many situations they face and to find greater comfort in dealing with this issue. I have been working with people with a wide range of gender identities for over 15 years.

I also work with families of intersex children (children born with ambiguous genitalia or whose sex assignment at birth was complex) and with intersex adults.
